A film diary made of vibrant bits and fragments edited into a poignant frenzy, All roads lead to you is a kaleidoscopic elegiac poem that leads to those whose absence haunts us. Right on the screen, carved into the image for everyone to read, personal memories are mixed with historical facts that have made Crimea and Ukraine oppressed territories for almost a century. Russification, deportation, Holodomor—famines orchestrated by Stalin from 1931 to 1933—, occupation, patriarchy… So many terms that define the reasons for a justified revolt, entrusted to the beautiful gesture of All roads lead to you. Between pain and anger, Jenya Milyukos expresses what it feels like to be trapped in a state of war.
